Zis-N-Zat From Pastor Asher

God is my conscience, Jesus lives in my heart… this blog is about what I see, what I think, what I do and how I serve God

3 Days until Peninsula – Delaware Annual Conference

Praying without Ceasing – A Call for Seven Days of Prayer

We invite you to be in prayer for the people of God, as the children of the Creator come together glorify the Holy One. A gathering of God’s people is June 5-7, 2014. The Peninsula – Delaware Annual Conference convenes at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Princess Anne, Maryland.  Let us come together in preparation for our gathering, as we pray together for one another. Seven days of praying without ceasing, as we call on the Lord to: Heal God’s World: Physically and Spiritually.

Praying without Ceasing – A Call for Seven Days of Prayer

Rev. Missy Rekitzke, St. Mark’s, Easton

Prepare your heart and mind

“Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done.” Psalm 105:1

What an awesome calling we have as representatives of God’s kingdom here on earth, to be change-agents for the world in our own little corner of it!  What can each of us do in preparation for Annual Conference, to be conduits of God’s purposes for our church and for the world? Let us take moments throughout our day to pray, asking for God’s holy intervention in our lives so that we can discern what is right and just and hopeful in God’s eyes.  Let us not be afraid to go to the throne of God with our requests with holy boldness, asking that God’s will be done here on earth.  When God’s people come together, prepared by the Holy Spirit to do a good work for the Kingdom of God, nothing can stop the fire from burning.  May our hearts break for what breaks God’s heart, may our minds be full of new ways of looking at how to reach this world with the gospel of Jesus Christ, may our physical bodies be energized and ready to be used, and may our eyes and ears be open to the beauty of God’s creation and how we can work towards wholeness and healing for all.  Christ is counting on us to set the example of his grace and love for one another.
